Personally I love to use my toaster oven to make mini savory tarts. Here’s how I make them.

Mini Savory Tarts

I cut frozen pastry to fit each muffin cup. I fill each pastry cup with bacon pieces, fresh herbs like parsley, oregano and basil. Sometimes I add pieces of bell peppers or green onions too. Then I whisk 3-4 eggs and pour it over the mixture in the pastry muffin cups. Once everything is in place I put some shredded cheese on top. And into the toaster oven they go.

This is such an easy recipe that can be used for lunch, a snack or even as a light meal in the evening with a salad. Make sure you have a muffin pan that fits your toaster oven and you’ll find lots of uses for it.

The easiest way to do it is to buy these toaster oven liners. They only cost a few dollars, but you should try to choose high quality liners that are BPA and PFOA free. Don’t be tempted to buy thin toaster oven liners because they are more likely to curl up in the heat and release toxic chemicals if they are made from inferior materials.

These toaster oven liners are FDA approved. They measure 11 x 13 inches but you can also trim them to fit a smaller space. They are so versatile.

When you’re buying them, I’d suggest you get the 2-pack. You can use two of them in your toaster oven or use one at a time and wash one while you use the other one so you always have an extra liner ready.

Any sort of spill is much easier to wash off a toaster oven liner rather than trying to clean it out of the oven itself. If you don’t already have them, get toaster oven liners today – you’ll thank yourself for getting them!
